Double Bill: Suor Angelica and Woman

SUOR ANGELICA

Sister Angelica seems content in her quiet convent life, but she harbors a disturbing secret. One day a visitor from her past arrives. Angelica’s hope is rekindled — but what she hears leads her to take drastic, irrevocable action. Puccini’s one-act is a moving and beautiful tale of pain, spirituality, and redemption.

WOMAN

Powerful music, spoken word, and music frame our storytelling as we explore the experience of contemporary womanhood. Using powerful choral works like Katrina Gimon’s “Fire” movement from her work Elements or J. David Moore’s moving arrangement of the folk hymn “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” favorite opera arias and art song, the women of Spotlight collaborate to share their experiences, memories, and dreams.

PLEASE NOTE: While no explicit language is used, WOMAN contains references to sexual assault which may be upsetting to some people. Discretion is advised.
